Kunes Auto Group is seeking a full-time Automotive Detailer to join its dealership team in Springfield, Illinois. In this hands-on role, you will help keep vehicles in showroom-ready condition, working both inside and out to deliver a spotless finish for every customer. Whether you have worked in a car wash, janitorial, cleaning, or another hands-on role, Kunes provides training and support to help you build a career in the automotive industry.

Compensation: $15.00-$25.00 Per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors and clean interior windows, mirrors, and door jambs.
• Vacuum seats, carpets, and floor mats to remove dirt and debris.
• Shampoo and deep-clean upholstery and rugs.
• Apply waxes, tire dressing, and interior protectants (vinyl, leather, and fabric).
• Use specialty cleaners to remove stains and tough materials.
• Inspect for and report visible defects like dents, scratches, and damaged upholstery.
• Recondition interiors, engine bays, and painted surfaces.
• Touch up minor paint or trim issues and replace missing small parts.
• Maintain all showroom and lot vehicles in clean condition.
• Refuel vehicles and remove all stickers from sold units.
• Keep the lot organized and your work area clean and safe.
• Report any issues or hazards to management.

Requirements

• Prior cleaning experience preferred (car wash, janitorial, or related field).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet throughout the day.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• No automotive experience required; training will be provided.
