About the role

The Automotive Service Manager, reporting to the Store Manager, will be responsible for setting the highest standards of excellence and personifying our core values to support operations in the service department of your store. This will involve creating a highly motivated team environment and working closely with the Service Team to improve their performance through a hands-on presence in the store, efficiently developing and coaching team members, and executing store processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in the store recruiting process by assisting the Store Manager with final employment decisions.
• Supervise technicians and service personnel, plan and schedule their duties, assign work, and follow up on completion of assignments.
• Coach service department teammates on all operational issues related to working the process within the ISI systems and service standards.
• Work directly with customers in areas of sales, service, customer opportunities, adjustments, etc.
• Evaluate the performance and productivity of all service department personnel.
• Manage parts inventory and outside purchases, ensuring compliance with the parts and Tire Purchase Program, and update and restock all in-house parts when needed.
• Ensure store safety, including the use and maintenance of safety equipment.
• Ensure equipment and hardware layout and positioning within the service department.
• Supervise the shop area, equipment, and teammates for compliance with company safety procedures.
• Coach personnel on enforcing the wheel torqueing process.
• Ensure that proper inspections are being conducted.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Service Manager role.
• Proven track record of exceeding business objectives.
• Ability to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team.
• Solid knowledge of basic OSHA laws and MSDS Compliance.
• Physical requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and bending.
  • At times, exerting 50 - 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 - 25 lbs of force frequently and/or greater than 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
  • Requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.
