Automotive Test Driver

About the role

We are seeking a Prototype Vehicle Operator to support automotive engineering and vehicle development activities. This role is responsible for operating prototype vehicles, validating vehicle features, executing test procedures, and documenting findings for engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have strong driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately report issues through tracking systems such as Jira.

Responsibilities

• Drive prototype vehicles on approved routes and test facilities while adhering to safety standards.
• Evaluate vehicle features and functionality based on defined test procedures.
• Verify vehicle readiness, software versions, and configuration prior to testing.
• Document test results, observations, and issues in Jira or similar tracking tools.
• Communicate vehicle status, defects, and testing feedback to engineering teams.
• Support engineering development efforts by providing detailed and accurate reports.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures during vehicle operation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating vehicles safely in a professional environment.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow structured test procedures and work independently.
• Experience with data entry, technical documentation, or technical support activities.
• Experience with prototype vehicles, vehicle testing, or automotive development.
• Familiarity with Jira or other defect tracking systems.
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems and software validation processes
