Job Description
Our Marketing Team is looking for its next Automotive Senior Ad Manager. You will be responsible for supporting the execution and day-to-day management of advertising strategies for an assigned group of Hendrick Automotive Group dealerships. The objective is to enhance our dealerships' position in the consideration set for vehicle sales, vehicle acquisition and service needs, deepen relationships with our existing customer base, and support the acquisition of new customers.
About the role
While this position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, the candidate must possess excellent project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills. The candidate must also provide leadership and strategic direction to the Hendrick Automotive Group family of dealerships, specifically for marketing, advertising, and lead generation.
Responsibilities
- This role is a teammate in the Hendrick Automotive Group Marketing Department and serves as the day-to-day contact for a group of selected dealership locations.
- Work closely with the Hendrick Automotive Group Marketing team, executive leadership, and store leadership to understand the goals and business needs for all assigned dealerships and Hendrick Automotive Group as a whole.
- Ultimately hold responsibility for advertising and lead performance for the assigned group of dealerships. It is critical to manage strong relationships with store leadership, building trust and influence within your portfolio.
- Engage with advertising mediums currently leveraged: traditional media (television, radio, OOH), direct (email and direct mail), digital advertising (SEM, SEO, display, remarketing, video), creative (video, static and audio), social media (paid and organic), reputation management, and 3rd party lead providers/classified sites.
- Apply knowledge and expertise of the advertising mediums mentioned above, monitor performance and spend efficiencies, and ensure message consistency across each.
- Understand website best practices and oversee website performance, merchandising, UX, and overall functionality.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, state and federal legal requirements, and Hendrick Automotive Group brand standards.
- Apply knowledge of OEM co-op processes and procedures to maximize available funds and ensure full reimbursement.
- Monitor advertising spend performance and use available tools: media performance, CRM traffic reports, call measurement reports, website analytics, Google Ad and analytics performance data, and data from 3rd party/classified sites.
- Maintain dealership advertising budgets accurately and monitor spend efficiency on a monthly basis.
- Monitor lead performance daily, identify opportunities for improvement, and effectively communicate recommendations to influence the required changes.
- Proactively look for opportunities in dealership marketing areas to grow their business.
- On special occasions, there are nonrecurring/one-off projects. If asked, serve as project manager for these, including planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and organizing events.
- Work independently and within a team. Hendrick Automotive Group prides itself on working together on all projects supporting its stores.
- Collaborate with teammates to share best practices and performance data.
- Be a problem solver and demonstrate a willingness to help teammates find solutions.
- Foster strong relationships with key dealership and corporate personnel.
- Communicate effectively and adjust your communication style as needed to influence decisions through education and data-driven results.
- Quarterly travel is required as needed to support dealership operations, build strong relationships with local teammates, and gain an understanding of the local market.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience in OEM/manufacturer sales, marketing, or account management.
- Experience working with an automotive marketing agency or automotive vendors.
- Strong relationship-building and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Experience with data analysis, data science, dealership operations, or automotive business processes.
- Familiarity with digital advertising and marketing, preferably within the automotive industry.
- A strong understanding of the automotive industry, including dealership operations and manufacturer relationships.
- A passion for cars and the automotive industry is a plus, but not required.
What Will Help You Succeed:
- The ideal candidate combines automotive industry knowledge with strong relationship-management skills, analytical thinking, and an understanding of digital marketing. Experience in the automotive industry is highly valued, as industry knowledge is important to success in this role.
- This role focuses on automotive account management, relationship building, and digital marketing strategy rather than primarily on creative design or content development.
