Job Description

Our Marketing Team is looking for its next Automotive Senior Ad Manager. You will be responsible for supporting the execution and day-to-day management of advertising strategies for an assigned group of Hendrick Automotive Group dealerships. The objective is to enhance our dealerships’ position in the consideration set for vehicle sales, vehicle acquisition and service needs, deepen relationships with our existing customer base, and support the acquisition of new customers.

About the role

Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the candidate must possess excellent project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills. The candidate must also provide leadership and strategic direction to the Hendrick Automotive Group family of dealerships, specifically for marketing, advertising, and lead generation.

This role is a teammate in the Hendrick Automotive Group Marketing Department and serves as the day-to-day contact for a group of selected dealership locations.

The role works closely with the Hendrick Automotive Group Marketing team, executive leadership, and store leadership to understand the goals and business needs of all assigned dealerships and Hendrick Automotive Group as a whole.

The role ultimately holds responsibility for advertising and lead performance for its group of assigned dealerships. It is critical to manage strong relationships with store leadership, building trust and influence within the portfolio.

Advertising mediums currently leveraged that this role will be asked to engage with include traditional media (television, radio, OOH), direct (email and direct mail), digital advertising (SEM, SEO, display, remarketing, video), creative (video, static and audio), social media (paid and organic), reputation management, and 3rd party lead providers/classified sites.

Knowledge and expertise of the advertising mediums mentioned above, monitoring performance and spend efficiencies, and ensuring message consistency across each are critical to the success of this role.

In addition to understanding website best practices, this role is responsible for overseeing website performance, merchandising, UX, and overall functionality.

The role is responsible for compliance with OEM standards, state and federal legal requirements, and Hendrick Automotive Group brand standards. Knowledge of OEM co-op processes and procedures is required to maximize available funds and ensure full reimbursement.

The role monitors advertising spend performance and uses available tools, including media performance, CRM traffic reports, call measurement reports, website analytics, Google Ad and analytics performance data, and data from 3rd party/classified sites.

The role is responsible for maintaining dealership advertising budgets accurately and monitoring spend efficiency on a monthly basis.

The role monitors lead performance daily, identifies opportunities for improvement, and effectively communicates recommendations to influence the required changes.

The role proactively looks for opportunities in dealership marketing areas to grow their business.

On special occasions, there are nonrecurring, one-off projects. If asked, this role will serve as a project manager for these, including planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and organizing events.

The candidate must be able to work independently and within a team. Hendrick Automotive Group prides itself on working together on all projects supporting its stores.

The candidate must be willing to collaborate with teammates to share best practices and performance data, be a problem solver, and demonstrate a willingness to help teammates find solutions.

The role fosters strong relationships with key dealership and corporate personnel.

The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and adjust their communication style as needed to influence decisions through education and data-driven results.

Quarterly travel is required as needed to support dealership operations, build strong relationships with local teammates, and gain an understanding of the local market.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience in OEM/manufacturer sales, marketing, or account management.
  • Experience working with an automotive marketing agency or automotive vendors.
  • Strong relationship-building and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term partnerships.
  • Experience with data analysis, data science, dealership operations, or automotive business processes.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising and marketing, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • A strong understanding of the automotive industry, including dealership operations and manufacturer relationships.
  • A passion for cars and the automotive industry is a plus, but not required.

What will help you succeed:

The ideal candidate combines automotive industry knowledge with strong relationship-management skills, analytical thinking, and an understanding of digital marketing. Experience in the automotive industry is highly valued, as industry knowledge is important to success in this role.

This role focuses on automotive account management, relationship building, and digital marketing strategy rather than primarily on creative design or content development.

Benefits

  • Paid Medical Insurance: no-cost employee healthcare and prescription plan.
  • Available dental and vision insurance (no cost after 3 years).
  • Basic life insurance, plus supplemental life and short- and long-term disability options.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick days.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Employee discounts on vehicle purchases, parts, and service.
  • The Ricky Hendrick College Scholarship Program, available to eligible dependents of Hendrick employees.
  • A successful team approach with a “Doing Business the Right Way” focus.
  • The stability that comes from working with the largest privately owned automotive group in the country.
