Job Description

About the role

AutoShop Recruiting | Houston, TX | Full-Time

Build the Pipeline. Start the Conversation. Make the Placement.

AutoShop Recruiting is growing rapidly, and we need an experienced automotive recruiter who knows how to find and engage high-performing automotive technicians and service advisors who are already working and are not actively applying for jobs.

This is a hands-on recruiting role built around direct sourcing, market research, outbound calls, and relationships. You must be able to build a search from scratch, identify talent at competing repair shops and dealerships, earn a candidate's trust, and turn an initial conversation into a successful placement. Job boards and incoming resumes can supplement your work; they cannot be the foundation of your recruiting strategy.

What Success Looks Like

You consistently create qualified candidate conversations through your own sourcing, build credible shortlists for difficult openings, keep candidates and clients engaged, and convert those searches into successful starts. You can explain where your candidates came from, how you reached them, and what made the placement work.

Why AutoShop Recruiting?

Join a growing business focused on helping automotive repair shops build stronger teams. Your sourcing ability will have a direct impact on our clients, the professionals we place, and our continued growth. This is an opportunity for an experienced recruiter who enjoys the research, the outreach, and the work of bringing a search across the finish line.

How to Apply

Apply through this posting and include a brief example of a technician or service advisor you recruited through direct outreach: how you identified the person, started the conversation, and earned the placement. Share relevant placement results and the sourcing methods you use when job boards produce nothing. Please keep candidate names and confidential client information out of your example.

If you know how to find automotive talent that never applies, we want to talk.

Responsibilities

  • Own searches for automotive technicians and service advisors, from intake and sourcing strategy through interviews, offers, and start dates.
  • Map each client's local market: identify competing independent shops, specialty repair businesses, dealerships, and service centers, then research the people doing the work.
  • Find named candidates through targeted research, industry networks, referrals, professional communities, public sources, and creative sourcing methods beyond job boards and resume databases.
  • Make confident outbound recruiting calls and build personalized outreach that gives employed talent a compelling reason to have a conversation.
  • Understand what would motivate a candidate to move, including compensation structure, shop leadership, workload, equipment, culture, schedule, and career goals.
  • Qualify technicians on diagnostic capability, repair experience, productivity, certifications, and shop fit; qualify advisors on customer communication, sales performance, repair-order management, and service-drive experience.
  • Present clear candidate assessments to clients, coordinate interviews, manage follow-up, and guide candidates through offers, counteroffers, and transitions.
  • Maintain accurate research, outreach history, candidate notes, and next steps in Loxo. Build reusable talent pipelines for future searches.
  • Handle confidential career conversations with professionalism, discretion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated recruiting experience with successful placements of automotive technicians and service advisors.
  • A proven ability to recruit passive candidates directly from competitors, including people who have not submitted a resume or applied to a posting.
  • Strong phone skills: you can initiate a conversation, ask useful questions, handle objections, and follow through consistently.
  • Working knowledge of automotive repair operations, technician skill levels, advisor responsibilities, and common compensation structures.
  • Resourceful research skills and the ability to develop a sourcing plan when a search starts with no applicants.
  • Ownership of results, disciplined pipeline management, and the ability to manage multiple searches in a fast-growing business.
  • Comfort using an ATS/CRM and sourcing technology while personally building candidate relationships. Loxo experience is a plus.
