Automotive Assistant & Service Managers

About the role

Mavis Tires & Brakes At Discount Prices is looking for full-time Automotive Assistant and Service Managers to join Team Mavis at one of its automotive service and retail tire sales centers in the Rock Point, NY area. Mavis has over 4,000 retail locations and is one of the largest tire sales and automotive repair chains in the United States.

Assistant Manager

As a future leader of Mavis, the Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager to ensure each Mavis retail location operates efficiently, safely and effectively. Using fundamental leadership skills, Assistant Managers are responsible for enforcing established policies, procedures and standards, scheduling mechanics/technicians' work, managing outside orders, ensuring the quality and timely completion of jobs, meeting customer expectations, and the safety of team members.

Service Manager

The Service Manager is responsible for assisting customers with tire selections and recommending necessary under-car repair services. In addition, to ensure complete customer satisfaction by delivering timely completion of high-quality vehicle repair and maintenance, Service Managers must direct the workflow of Mechanics, Alignment Technicians and Tire Technicians and stage vehicle repair/maintenance work. While driving the sales initiatives of Mavis, Service Managers must communicate directly with customers, assess customer needs, provide information regarding requested and/or necessary automotive repairs and maintenance, ensure customers are satisfied with their in-store experience and strive to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assistant Managers support the Store Manager in ensuring each Mavis retail location operates efficiently, safely and effectively.
• Enforce established policies, procedures and standards.
• Schedule mechanics/technicians' work and manage outside orders.
• Ensure the quality and timely completion of jobs, meet customer expectations, and ensure team member safety.
• Assist customers with tire selections and recommend necessary under-car repair services.
• Direct the workflow of Mechanics, Alignment Technicians and Tire Technicians and stage vehicle repair/maintenance work.
• Communicate directly with customers, assess customer needs, and provide information regarding requested and/or necessary automotive repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure customers are satisfied with their in-store experience and strive to meet customer expectations while driving Mavis sales initiatives.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess one of the following: 1 year of experience and/or training in automotive parts and/or tire sales; 1 year of experience and/or training in automotive repairs/maintenance; or any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Newly hired Automotive Assistant Managers and Service Managers who hold a valid New York State Inspector License may be eligible for a one-time $250 Licensed Inspector Bonus.

Mavis supports eligible Assistant Manager and Service Managers in obtaining a New York State Inspector License by covering the cost of required training, testing and licensing fees, subject to Company policy.
